Stories collected along the way

An album of original songs, old memories, new perspectives, and the places that stay with us.
Between Two Shores
An original music project by Kevin Springer
Some songs are written in a day. Others take thirty years to find their way home.
For much of my life, music has been a constant companion. I've spent more than four decades playing guitar, singing songs I love, and collecting stories along the way.
But somewhere between the gigs, the family adventures, the miles traveled, and the changing seasons of life, I've also been writing a few songs of my own.
Between Two Shores is a collection of those stories, told through original acoustic music.
The project draws inspiration from the places and people that have shaped my life, from the rugged coastline of the North Atlantic to the warm waters of Southwest Florida.
I'm taking my time with this one. No big recording deadlines, no elaborate production plans. Just a guitar, a microphone, a few musical friends, and the desire to make something honest.
The songs are still evolving, and I thought it might be fun to invite you along for the journey.

A First Listen: Sanibel
One island. Thirty years of memories. One unfinished song.
I started writing Sanibel roughly thirty years ago, when Kelly and I were living in Southwest Florida, long before we were married.
I'd come south after a particularly stressful chapter of life up north. Sanibel became something of a sanctuary, a place to slow down, clear my head, and rediscover what really mattered.
Little did I know then just how important that little island would become to our family.
Over the years, Sanibel became a place we returned to again and again. Our daughter even took her very first steps on its beach in 2005.
Now, three decades later, I'm revisiting the song with a few more miles behind me and a much deeper appreciation for what those early days meant.
It's still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share a little sneak listen.

This is a rough acoustic recording, not a finished or released track. Just a little glimpse into the songwriting process.
The Songs and the Stories
Every song has a story behind it. Some are about places, some about people, and others about those moments in life you wish you could hold onto a little longer.
As the album develops, I'll share occasional updates, stories behind the songs, and maybe a few more rough recordings.
I'm hoping the finished collection will feel less like a studio production and more like sitting together on a porch somewhere, trading stories as the sun goes down.
Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Cheers,
Kevin
